Notes & Discussions
Notes are semi-private and are seen only by the author(s) of the map (and users with special editing privileges) to which your note is posted, while Discussions are visible and searchable by everyone in the system. Your Communications Channel provides a central location to quickly access these targeted and relevant communications.

Application

Notes are semi-private and are seen only by the author(s) of the map or report to which your note is posted.
When viewing a unit or course from anywhere in Atlas:
1. Click Actions menu.
2. Click Leave a Note.
3. Click into the text fields to enter a subject and content for your note. You may also choose to post the note to a specific mapping category in the unit; however, a specific category is not required.
4. Click Save to record and time-stamp your note.
Notes you have posted to a colleague's map are not available to you for modification once the note has been saved.

1. Click Actions menu.
2. Click Leave a Note to open the Add or Edit a note window.
3. Click into the text fields to enter a subject and content for your note. You may also choose to post the note to a specific mapping category in the unit; however, a specific category is not required.
4. Click Save to record and time-stamp your note.
Click View Notes to produce a printable report of all notes posted to the unit.

Edit question 1-5 of this assessment to make the wording clear for students who might struggle with the term “always” and “never”

1. Go to My Atlas > My Notes.
2. Select either Sent to or Sent by me, then click on the name of the unit on which the note was left.
3. From the Unit Planner, click Actions > Leave a Note.
4. In the window, click All Notes for this Unit, and you will see a delete icon “X” next to the Note.
Deleted Notes cannot be retrieved.

When viewing a unitor Course from anywhere in Atlas:
1. Click Actions menu.
2. Click Join the Discussion.
3. Click into the text fields to enter a comment to start or join a discussion. You may also choose to post the discussion to a specific unit from the drop down menu.
4. Click Post to record and time-stamp your discussion.

The peer feedback assessment was successful because I gave students a practice round and allowed them to change the rubric slightly.
You can see a discussion thread on any map, unit, or report once you join a discussion. Discussions can be viewed in the Communications Channel.
